Rental Terms & Conditions

These Rental Terms & Conditions ("Rental Terms") apply to all rentals from TryDarts. By placing a rental order you confirm you are 18+ and you agree to these Rental Terms, plus the Store Terms.

 

1. Definitions

·       Rental Set: the darts and/or components you rent from us (including any optional add-ons).

·       Start Date: the date the carrier tracking shows the order was delivered.

·       Rental Period: 4 days, starting on the Start Date (inclusive).

·       Return Deadline: the end of Day 4 of the Rental Period (inclusive), by which the Rental Set must be posted back.

·       Return Label: the pre-printed return postage label included in the parcel.

·       Replacement Value: up to £150 per set (Based on the cost of replacing that specific rental set with the equivalent new set at the time charges are applied).

2. What you receive (and condition)

2.1 Condition. All Rental Sets are supplied in good used condition and may show signs of normal use. They are not supplied in original packaging unless we state otherwise.

2.2 What’s included.

·       If the darts brand is Target, the standard rental includes dart barrels only (no points supplied unless specifically added).

·       For non-Target brands, the standard rental includes barrel and point.

·       Optional extras may be available at checkout, including Target K-Flex flights and Target Swiss Points for an additional charge.

2.3 You must return everything supplied (including any paid add-ons) even if damaged.

3. Rental period and Start Date

3.1 All rentals are 4-day rentals.

3.2 The Rental Period begins on the Start Date, which is the delivery date shown by Royal Mail Tracked 24 tracking.

3.3 Delivered to neighbour / safe place. If tracking shows the order was delivered to a neighbour, safe place, concierge/reception, or similar, that date still counts as the Start Date.

4. Return rules and Return Deadline

4.1 You must post the Rental Set back no later than Day 4 of the Rental Period (Start Date is Day 1).

Example: If tracking shows delivery on Tuesday, the latest you can post it back is Friday.

4.2 How to return. You must reuse the packaging the Rental Set arrived in (e.g., padded envelope) and use the Return Label provided in the parcel.

4.3 Posting methods accepted. You may return via a Royal Mail Shop/Post Office, Royal Mail Locker, or a Royal Mail postbox provided you obtain proof of postage in accordance with Section 4.4.

4.4 Proof of postage (mandatory). You must obtain and keep proof of postage for every return parcel you send (for example a Post Office/Royal Mail receipt, or proof of postage generated via the Royal Mail App where available). You must keep this proof until the return has been delivered back to us.

4.4.1 If proof is not obtained. If you do not obtain proof of postage for a return parcel, you remain fully liable for the Rental Set(s) in that order. If we do not receive the return parcel and you cannot provide valid proof of postage, we will treat the Rental Set(s) as not returned and you will be liable for the Replacement Value for each set of darts in that order (see Section 1 and Section 5).

4.5 Posted on time, delivered later. If you post the Rental Set on time but Royal Mail delivers it back to us later, this will still be treated as returned on time.

4.6 Lost/damaged Return Label. If you do not use the Return Label (including where it is lost or damaged), you are responsible for arranging return postage yourself and ensuring the Rental Set is posted by the Return Deadline. Any additional costs are your responsibility.

5. Late returns: late rental fees and replacement charge

5.1 Late fee. If you do not post the Rental Set back by the Return Deadline, a late fee of £7.99 per extra 4 days applies per set.

5.2 Ongoing late fees. Late fees continue to apply in additional 4-day blocks until the total late fees for that set reach the Replacement Value (see Section 1), up to £150.

5.3 Cap and conversion to replacement charge. Once late fees for a set reach the replacement value (up to £150), late fees stop and the total is treated as a sale/replacement charge. At that point, you keep the darts and we treat the Rental Set as not returned.

5.4 No refund after replacement charge. If a Rental Set is returned after the replacement charge has been incurred/charged, no refund will be given.

6. Damage, missing items, and prohibited modifications

6.1 Your responsibility. You are responsible for the Rental Set from delivery until it is posted back, including keeping it safe and returning it complete.

6.2 Fair wear and tear. Normal cosmetic wear from careful use is acceptable. The following are examples of unacceptable damage (non-exhaustive):

·       snapped barrels

·       heavily dented barrels

·       more than 1 snapped point

·       more than 1 snapped K-Flex

·       any missing barrels

·       any missing K-Flex or Swiss Points (damaged items must still be returned)

·       deliberate modifications

·       damaged internal threads at either end of the dart barrel

·       damaged threads on Swiss Points or K-Flex

6.3 Missing items fees (if not returned):

·       Missing 1, 2, or all 3 barrels from a set: up to the replacement value (up to £150)

·       Missing K-Flex: £2.99 per item

·       Missing Swiss Points: £2.99 per item

6.4 Damage charges. Where items are returned damaged beyond fair wear and tear, you agree to pay the reasonable repair or replacement cost, up to a maximum of the Replacement Value for that set(up to £150).

6.5 Inspection. We will inspect returns within a reasonable time after receipt. If we believe charges apply, we may request photos and/or provide photos where practical.

7. Payment authorisation for late/damage/non-return charges

7.1 Authorisation. By placing a rental order, you authorise us to collect valid charges under these Rental Terms (including late fees, missing item fees, and damage/replacement charges) using your original payment method where supported by your payment provider.

7.2 If we can’t charge automatically. Some payment methods/providers do not allow later charges without additional steps. If we are unable to take payment automatically, you agree to pay any valid charges we notify you of within 7 days of our request. If payment is not made, we may take reasonable steps to recover the debt (including using a debt collection service and/or legal action where appropriate), and you may be responsible for reasonable recovery costs where permitted by law.

8. Address restrictions and delivery responsibility

8.1 We only deliver to UK residential addresses. If you provide an address that is not residential or that prevents successful delivery, you remain responsible for rental obligations and any resulting charges.

8.2 If tracking shows delivered, that is evidence of delivery for the purposes of the Start Date and rental obligations (including deliveries to a safe place/neighbour as described above).

9. Cancellation

9.1 Before dispatch. You may cancel before dispatch by emailing support@trydarts.co.uk. Where we have already incurred label/shipping costs, we may deduct those costs from your refund where permitted by law.

9.2 After dispatch. Once dispatched, rental orders cannot be cancelled.

10. Safety

10.1 Rentals are 18+ only.

10.2 Darts are sharp and can cause injury or damage. You agree to use rented items safely and responsibly.

11. Changes to these Rental Terms

We may update these Rental Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place your rental order applies to that order.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Rental Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law provides otherwise.
