How TryDarts Condition Grades Work
Every used set listed by TryDarts receives a condition grade so you can quickly understand its cosmetic condition. The grade is supported by photographs and product notes, allowing you to judge the exact darts rather than relying on the grade alone.
Grade A+ / Like New
Like new, with no signs of use on the barrels. A Grade A+ set may be boxed or unboxed, and the listing will state exactly what is included.
This grade is suited to buyers who want barrels that look as close to new as possible while still benefiting from used pricing.
Grade A / Excellent
Very light cosmetic wear, fully functional and excellent in overall appearance. The set may be boxed or unboxed.
Grade A is often a strong balance between appearance and price. Minor marks may be visible in the photographs, but the darts should still present very well.
Grade B / Used
Visible signs of use and expected cosmetic wear, while remaining fully functional. Grade B darts may be boxed or unboxed.
This can be the best-value grade for players who care more about the barrel design and performance than surface marks or coating wear.
Grade C / Heavily Used
Significant cosmetic wear, fully functional unless the product listing states otherwise, and priced accordingly. The set may be boxed or unboxed.
Grade C listings should be assessed carefully using the photographs and notes. They can offer a low-cost way to try a model when appearance is not important.
What does TryDarts check?
Before listing a set, we check the areas that matter to safe and normal use:
- All three barrels are the correct matching set.
- Front and rear threads are checked for obvious damage.
- Barrels are checked for cracks, major dents and unusual damage.
- Grip and coating wear are assessed.
- Points are checked and the listing explains relevant issues.
- Boxes and accessories are recorded where included.
- The set is cleaned and photographed.
Does a lower grade affect performance?
Not necessarily. Grades mainly describe cosmetic condition. A Grade B set can remain fully functional and may play exactly as expected. However, grip wear can change how a heavily used barrel feels, which is why close photographs and honest notes matter.
How should you compare two grades?
Compare the price difference with what you personally value. A collector may prefer Grade A+ with original packaging. A regular league player may prefer the savings offered by Grade A or B. There is no single correct grade for every buyer.
